Phyre-Lite: Overview
Phyre-Lite is a stream-lined version of the Phyre-Server offering a fast and user-friendly stand-alone command-line tool. It uses a highly optimised primary and secondary structure profile recognition algorithm in order to scan a given query against a database of known structures. Phyre-Lite is designed to run on Linux-based desktop and server systems.
This command-line application retains many of the major features of the Phyre-Server, including domain boundary prediction, multiple sequence alignment inputs, and modelling of loop regions. All results are provided in easily parsable ASCII files and are also available via a simplified web-based interface.
Phyre-Lite is an ideal fold-recognition tool for specialist bioinformaticians and non-specialist users who are familiar with the Unix-style command-line.
