Products: Overview

Equinox Pharma is continuously developing the research emerging from the Structural Bioinformatics laboratories of Imperial College London in order to provide a range of reliable and powerful tools for Linux-based desktop and server systems (32-bit and soon 64-bit architectures).

Phyre-Lite

Our flagship product line is based on the world-class enhanced fold recognition system Phyre (the Protein Homology/analogY Recognition Engine). Phyre-Lite is a stream-lined version of the Phyre-Server, offering a fast and user-friendly stand-alone command-line tool. It uses a highly optimised fold recognition algorithm in order to scan a given query against a database of known structures.

Phyre-Server

Originally developed in 2004, Phyre was one of the top performing stand-alone protein stucture recognition systems at CASP6. The Phyre-Server will soon be available as an in-house web-server, ideally suited to the needs of companies and research institutes with high throughput needs or large numbers of potential users.

Phragment

Phragment is a fragment-based system for the de novo prediction of protein structures, and can also be used for loop-modelling and model refinement. It uses small fragments and heavy atom backbone torsion moves in order to sample the conformational space available to a protein sequence. This space is explored using more than half a dozen different energy functions for efficient discrimination of native structures.
