David A. Gough
Chief Executive Officer
David Gough BSc, MBA is a serial entrepreneur specialising in biomedical and other technology-based businesses. In the last ten years he has been the founder or co-founder of six companies one of which (Vectura Group plc) has been successfully floated on AIM. David has raised, or helped to raise, close to £100m in equity capital or VC funds. His successful and broadly based career as a senior manager, consultant, entrepreneur and investor has spanned more than thirty years. In 1996 he founded First Instar Limited, a consulting firm specialising in for the life sciences and biomedical industries and high technology. Prior to this he headed up healthcare and life sciences in the technology division of PA Consulting Group.
As well as general management roles with a number of companies including Avlar BioVentures, a specialist biotechnology seed investor, and Vectura Ltd, a drug delivery company, David has held board level positions in marketing, business development, finance and operations. He has extensive board experience involving some 20 companies and has worked for or consulted to many of the world's leading pharma, healthcare and biotech companies.
